ELECTRIC MAGMA, one of Toronto's longest running and consistently rocking bands, gave us a chance to talk before their set at the Bovine. Listen here for a brief talk about "Canadian Samurai II", set to release January 2012 with their new drummer, Mario. The beer rock revolution is about to begin.
Kyle and Errol from the mighty SHEVIL sat down with us to talk about the Moncton rock scene, their October tour, and positive leads in their future work. Their S/T debut was released earlier this year (see: BANDCAMP) though their live show is a full-on 'bass to the face' force to be reckoned with. Don't miss these guys next time they're in town. Listen here.
Here's an interview with HOLY MOUNT after their set at the Garage in November 2011. Danijel and Brandon spill the beans on their demo CD releases, on a recent review of "We Fell From The Sky", and other cool things (such as that they've been playing together since knee-high school). These guys are cool. And they're based in Toronto so I'm sure you can catch 'em soon enough! This is their sound. This is the interview.
TOWN SHIP (formerly Ancestors) start this with a description of what 'Town Ship' might actually mean. These are four guys who, albeit two that don't care for the processes of writing music, neither take themselves too seriously nor want to be. At times. Here's the interview - and check the tunes; maybe it'll change your mind about something.
GALAXIES IN THE RIVER are a psych-blues/rock trio in Toronto, 'stellar' and extreme mellow guys that are all about the live show experience. Here, we talk about their views about music and being musicians. Also, March 31st at the 460 is where they'll be. Raw homegrown groove with an honest and integral approach - check it here. HEY TORONTO! It's high time to pull ya pants up and show some love eh!!
THREE CROWNS: Brandon (vocals) discusses where the band is currently at and how the hardcore/metal fanbase has been in response.
Interview // Tunes
WASTER: Tim (bass) keeps it real during the final minute of the interview, but more importantly, the band rightfully looks forward despite a sudden change of members.
Interview // Tunes
DANCING WITH PARIS: Andrew (guitar) tells the story of DWP plus how they maintain a loyal fanbase. Sidenote: there are two guitarists in the band, which I forgot to mention.
